Supported in three places: cockpit floor bearing, through-hull packing gland and gudgeon pintle at base of keel. Emergency tiller fitting is accessible from cockpit.
CONSTRUCTION - Fiberglass reinforced plastic hull and deck are hand-laid with alternate layers of woven roving and mat for strength and consistency. Structural bulkheads are marine-grade, waterproofed plywood solidly glassed to hull. - BALLAST - The ballast keel is a lead casting internally encapsulated in fiberglass. It is connected to an exterior bronze grounding plate to facilitate a lightning ground.
INTERIOR - Galley equipped with ice box, dry storage, propane stove and sink. The teak ice-box top doubles as a navigation station. Two full-length berths provide comfortable seating and a strong bulkhead configuration. The forward vee-berth, is separated from the salon area with teak doors, providing two private berths. The head is located between the salon and the vee-berth. All corners are rounded, and hand rails are conveniently located. Cabin sole is laid teak plywood bonded to a fiberglass sole with resilient adhesive, and with access ports to bilge, water tank and thru-hull instrument fittings. A drop leaf table, located in the main cabin between the settees, folds up against the forward bulkhead.
HULL - A narrow beam, rounded bilges and relatively heavy displacement provides a sea kindly ride. A modified full keel with cutaway forefoot, moderate draft, and raking rudderpost provides excellent maneuverability and light air performance, a small leeway and the ability to cruise in relatively shallow waters. A high freeboard keeps the crew dry. Long overhangs allow the waterline to increase when the boat heels in a fresh wind increasing hull speed.
